Jesup-Wilbur C. "Bill" Flowers, 84 died peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning , October 9, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Jesup. He was a native of Wayne County with a long career as a wood producer for Brunswick Pulp and Paper. He loved his family and farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ocie Sloan Flowers, his parents Josh and Jenny Jones Flowers and 9 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Wayne (Audrey) Flowers, Jesup; daughters and sons- in- law Ann Shirley (Jim) Westberry, Odum, Jeannie (Mike) Long, Jesup; and sister, Grace Scott, Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren Natasha (Ferrell) Cooksey, Joshua (Dana) Flowers, Chael Long, and Rachel Long, all of Jesup; Tynesha (Jason) Tighe, Brunswick. 5 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. prior to the Service. Funeral Services will be held Monday October 11, 2010, 11:00 A.M at the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel, Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home, Jesup, GA, with Reverends Wayne Manning, Charles Manning and Mike Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be family members.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Pope, Lenox Anderson, Stetson Bennett, JR, Roger Harper, Fred Fender, Grant Lewis, Hubert Howard, Ronnie Dixon, Martin Proudfoot and Bunny Grantham.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Gideon's International.
