Rev. Dudley Edson Clark, was born July 18, 1855, at Conneaut, Ohio, Ashtabula County and died at Arlington, R.I., Nov. 21, 1884, aged 29 years. He was the fifth child of Rev. Rufus and Celia Sanborn Clark. In the thirteenth year of his age he was baptized by his father and became a member of the church in Warren, Ill. Without much help from his father's small salary, he obtained an education through his own persistent efforts. He was graduated at Hillsdale College, Mich, in 1879, and from the Theological Department of this college in 1881. He was ordained in 1880, and preached while in school, at Woodstock, Mich, where he witnessed a revival and a score of conversions. After his graduation he preached and taught school at Davison Station, Mich., where his labors were highly esteemed. In 1883, he ws called to Arlington, R.I., where he endeared himself to many in the short time before his early death.
