Mann's co. of Medfield militia, which marched to Providence, R. I., and thence to Warwick Neck, in accordance with orders given by Maj. James Metcalf Dec. 8, and Dec. 9, 1776; service, 4 days; also, Capt. Mann's co.; marched Dec. 8, 1776; discharged Dec. 11, 1776; service, 4 days, under Maj. James Metcalf; company marched to Rhode Island on the alarm of Dec. 8, 1776; reported drafted for York; also, list of men drafted from Capt. Wheelock's regt.; marched April 22, 1777; discharged May 10, 1777; service, 20 days; company marched to Rhode Island; also, list of men who were hired by persons belonging to Capt. Mann's co. of Medfield militia who had been drafted to march to Rhode Island and there serve for one calendar month at or near Bristol, in accordance with a warrant from Lieut. Col. Benjamin Hawes, dated Wrentham, July 14, 1777, and by order of Brig. Lovell; said Smith, with Jabez Fuller, reported as having been hired by Eleazer Wheelock, Town Clerk; service, 36 days; also, list of men belonging to Capt. Mann's co. who marched on a secret expedition to Rhode Island the last of Sept., 1777, to serve for 30 days from Oct. 1, 1777, said men having been drafted in accordance with a warrant from Col. Hawes, dated Sept. 25, 1777; said Smith probably sick and unable to march.
