Bernard Joseph "Benny" "B.J." Bergkamp, 59, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Ashley Manor in Wheat Ridge, Colo.
He was born June 18, 1951, in Garden City, to A.A. "Pete" and Jeanne Northcutt Bergkamp. He attended St. Mary Elementary School and then attended the seminary in Sioux City, Iowa, graduating from high school at Savior of the World Seminary in Bonner Springs.

After a short time in Garden City, Mr. Bergkamp moved to Denver, where he lived until returning to Garden City in 1987. He was club manager at Southwind Country Club and manager of the Flight Deck Restaurant at Garden City Municipal Airport. He returned to Denver a couple of years later, spending the remainder of his life there.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary Milford of Fowler, Patricia Nieman of Garden City, and Karen Johnson of Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Bergkamp.
