Rev. Morris Henry Budensiek, age 86, of Janesville, Wisconsin, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville.

He was born to Carl and Lessie Budensiek of Zumbrota, MN, on February 1, 1923. He attended rural grade schools and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1940.

He finished his college education from Wesleyan Colleges, located in Miltonvale, KS, and Marion, IN. While attending college in Kansas, he met his future wife, Marguerite Gum, a student in Biblical Studies and Piano.

The two were married on June 6th, 1945, in Alva, OK. They set up housekeeping in Wilmore, KY, where Morris entered school at Asbury Theological Seminary for one year.

He then accepted a Pastorate in the Nebraska Conference of the Wesleyan Denomination. During the years of pastoral work, he was elected to the office of Conference President and President of the Conference Youth Work, as well as serving as Area Representative on the Miltonvale Conference Board. During these years the couple was blessed with three sons: Kenneth Lynn, James Lee and Donald Lewis. The family moved to Wichita, KS, where Morris accepted a position in social work through the state, where he continued in a supervisory position for the next 18 years, retiring in 1988. Morris and Marguerite retired to Bella Vista, AR, where the couple enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating.

In due time Morris was summoned back to the church to serve as an interim pastor for four years before moving to Janesville, WI, in 1997 to be with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marguerite of Janesville, three sons: Kenneth (Suzan) Budensiek of Janesville, James (Nancy) Budensiek of Libby, MT, Donald (Nancy) Budensiek of Bentonville, AR; 6 grandchildren: Paul Budensiek, Traci (Bert) Boyd, Lisa Utt, Amy (David) Latka, Sarah (Eric) Earle, Hailey Budensiek; 4 great-grandchildren: Connor Boyd, Luke Boyd, Lily Utt, and Andrew Budensiek; a brother, Mark (Nancy) Budensiek of Stuart, VA; a sister, Phyllis Schrunk of Palmer, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Budensiek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the JANESVILLE WESLEYAN CHURCH with Pastor Paul Wilczek and Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at the JANESVILLE WESLEYAN CHURCH.
