Wrecker Driver Here Dies Of Heart Attack

A Baytown man died after suffering an apparent heart attack at the wheel of a wrecker, which slammed into a parked car in the 600 block of West Defee about 6:35 p.m. Thursday.

John J. Egielske, 43, of 1804 McFarland, apparently died at the wheel of the wrecker, owned by Don Wheaton's Wrecker Service, Officer James Powell said. Powell said Egielske was eastbound on Defee when he had the attack and lost consciousness causing the wrecker to swerve to the right and hit a parked car owned by Jeff Brewer of Webster.

Egielske was taken to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital by Baytown Ambulance Service. Powell said no charges were filed in the accident.
