Raymon Glen Mathys, 81, Geneva, Ind., died at 8:25 a.m. Feb. 28, 2015, at his home after an extended illness.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, Ind., the Rev. Michele Isch officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Family Life Care, Berne, Ind., or Howard County Special Olympics, Kokomo, Ind.Raymon Glen Mathys, 81, of Geneva, IN, passed away at 8:25 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at his home in Geneva, IN after an extended illness. He was born on Friday, March 17, 1933, in Geneva to the late Clinton & Jesse (Runkel) Mathys. Raymon was a member of the High Street United Methodist Church in Geneva. He retired in 1994 from Central Soya, Decatur, IN, after 43 plus years of service. He was also the owner/operator of Mathys Refrigeration and the Attic 2nd Hand Store in Geneva for many years. He was a retired Volunteer Fireman for the town of Geneva, where he served many years. Raymon was an avid fisherman and spent many years fishing the waters of Hamilton Lake and Lake of the Woods.


Survivors Include: wife - Carolyn (Roeger) Mathys, Geneva, IN; son - Glen Mathys, Decatur, IN; daughters - Tina Mathys, Celina, OH, Vicky (Mike) Boolman, Bryant, IN, Anita Mathys, Geneva, IN and Lisa Neuenschwander, Bluffton, IN; grandchildren - Stacy (Casey Keirn) Mathys, Fort Wayne, IN, Matthew (April) Mathys, Fort Wayne, IN, Drew Mathys, Fort Wayne, IN, Amber Lemler, Bremen, IN, Landon Lemler, Bremen, IN, Aaliyah Lemler, Bremen, IN, Tavia (Davis Bowen) Boolman, Bryant, IN, Tasia Boolman, Bryant, IN, Lily Boolman, Bryant, IN, Abrill Ellis, Geneva, IN, Onan Ellis, Geneva, IN, Shaina Neuenschwander, Bluffton, IN and Raegan Neuenschwander, Bluffton, IN; sister - Roberta (Hubert) Isch, Decatur, IN, 8 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and his special pet Harley.


He was preceded in death by his: 1st wife - Norma Jean (Longenecker) Mathys, who passed away in 1994; parents- Clinton and Jesse (Runkel) Mathys; brothers - Clifford Mathys, Doyle Mathys, Richard Mathys and Robert Mathys; sisters - Beatrice Isch, Bernice Branstrator, Irene Birch and Helen Mathys, also a special angel, great granddaughter - Madison Mathys.


Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Wednesday, March 04, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.


A service to celebrate Raymon’s life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 05, 2015, with calling one hour prior to the service. Pastor Michele Isch will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
