He was the youngest child of Frank and Nellie Phillips Hosick. He married Ermadene York in 1946 and together they had four children,Sheila,Carolyn,Christine and Edward. He served in WWII and was a member of the American Legend Post 224,Carmi Elks Club,the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans.
