He was born Nov 17, 1895 in Macon County, the s/o Just and Martha Alexander Fombelle. He leaves his widow, Helen; three daughters: Mrs. Elton Haynes, Bement; Mrs. Harold Frye, Cherry Point NC, and Miss Norma Jean Fombelle at home; three sons: George and Glenn, Atwood and Robert at home; and a sister, Mrs. W. R. Long, Decatur.
He served in the Army during World War I.
