Her death certificate and her stone have entirely different dates of birth; I have listed the stone date due to the fact that her brother, John Morgan Adkins was born in March of 1883, which would mean that Laura could not have also been born in March of 1883 unless they were twins and no records show that they were. I believe the stone date of 1881 is correct. I suspicion the date on the certificate is a guess by Thomas Isom Shepherd, the informant and her son. Daughter of Thomas Adkins and Nancy Cox; wife of Cicero Shepherd.
