MRS. W. W. IRVINE DIES AS RESULT OF PARALYSIS

Was Widow of Sergeant Irvine, Many Years on Police Force. Funeral at 3:30 This Afternoon.

Mrs. Emma Irvine, widow of the late Sergeant W. W. Irvine, for 21 years a member of the city police force, died suddenly yesterday morning at 11:45 o'clock at her home, 204 West Second street, as a result of a stroke of paralysis. Her age was 52 years.

The funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. B. Lindsay, pastor of the First A. R. P. church, of which the deceased was a member. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery. Members of the police department will act as pallbearers.

Mrs. Irvine is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W. R. Phillips, of Waynesville, Mrs. Jack Chidlers, of Columbia, S. C., and Misses Ruth and Helen Irvine, of this city; four sons, W. P., R. A., and John Irvine, of Charlotte, and E. C. Irvine, of Richmond, Va. One sister, Mrs. R. L. Avery, of Norfolk, also survives.

Mrs. Emma Irvine, widow of the late Sergeant W. W. Irvine, for 21 years a member of the city police force, died suddenly yesterday morning at 11:45 o'clock at her home, 204 West Second street, as a result of a stroke of paralysis. Her age was 52 years.
