Mrs. Mina Whiteman, widow of Orlando Whiteman, died unexpectedly at 11:30 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Potter in Garrett. Death was due to coronary occulsion.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Meade (Edna) Aspy of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Clarence (Edith) Potter , of Garrett, and Mrs. J. L. Payne, of Melrose, N. Mex., and a son, Harland J. Whiteman of Muncie. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Butcher, of Bryant. Besides the husband, one daughter, Dondeena, preceded her in death.
The body was brought to the Hardy & Hardy Funeral Home in Geneva where funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The pastor from Garrett officiated, assisted by Rev. Roger Lautzenhiser. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery. (Copied from newspaper 15 Mar 1953 and was found in a book of obituaries at the Grace Armantrout Museum, in George West, TX)
