Born June 24, 1928 in Massac County to Elijah Harrison and Alma Rebecca (Evans) Blasdel, she married Sam L. Dukes on June 24, 1946 in Centralia. He died Nov. 17, 1978.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother.
Surviving are one son, Denzil (and wife, Laurel) Dukes of Marquette Heights; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Gayle worked for Pekin Hospital for 24 years in the Radiology Department, retiring in 1979. She enjoyed bowling and bowled on the Pekin Hospital team for many years. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
