Vern McPherson, 61, died of a heart attack at the home of his brother Walter McPherson at Rose Isle, Manitoba, where he was visiting while on a vacation with his daughter, Christine McPherson. Death came at 10:30 p.m. September 14, 1951.
He was born in Wexford County, Michigan, November 9, 1891, coming to Newberry in 1936 and was a farmer and lumber worker. The past 8 years he has been in poor health.
Surviving are his wife, Florence, three sons, Fred, Walter and Sam at home, two daughters, Christine at home, and Mrs. Loretta Gagnon of Sault Ste. Marie. One granddaughter, Florence Gagnon of Sault Ste. Marie. Seven brothers also survive, namely, Howard of Vancouver, British Columbia; Fred of Carmen, Manitoba, and Walter and Willliam of Rose Isle, Manitoba; Kenneth of Boyne City; Sheldon of Shingleton and Wilfred of Fowlerville, Michigan.
The burial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Beaulieu Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
