Emory Grant Sterner, 88, formerly of Aspers R.D., died Wednesday morning at the Wolford Bible Convalescent Home, Fairfield.
A son of the late John and Susan (Baum) Sterner, he was a farmer all of his life and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church here. His wife, the late Carrie Fowble Sterner, preceded him in death. Surviving are eight children: Mrs. Samuel (Grace) Dayhoff, Gettysburg R.D.; Maurice Sterner, Biglerville; Guy Sterner, Gettysburg; Mrs. Luther (Douglas M.) Fox, Harney, Md.; Willis Sterner, Olella, Md.; Rev. Ivan Sterner, New York City; Glenn Sterner, Gettysburg R.D.; Mrs. Ira (May) Fohl, Aspers R.D. He had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Fohl, for some time before moving to the convalescent home. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
