Graveside services with military honors for James F. Malone, 90, of Temple will be noon today in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Malone died Saturday, Oct. 2, in a Temple nursing facility. He was born Nov. 19, 1919, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Jim and Annie Sirratt Malone. He married Cora Byrd Nov. 15, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark. He earned a masters degree in both English and business administration. He was in the U.S. Army, serving in New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia during World War II with the 333rd Combat Engineers. He also received a Silver Star. He was a 50-year Mason. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cameron.

Survivors include his wife of Houston; three daughters, Marianne Fayrweather and Marge Jerram, both of Houston, and Kathy Krimsky of Missouri City; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
