Gilson Sabel, 79, of N9162 Willow Lane Beach, died of congestive heart failure, Friday, March 31, 1995, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1916, in the Town of Empire, a son of Albert and Mildred Bradford-Sabel. On Oct. 9, 1949, he married Edna Schaefer at Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary.
With his wife, he owned and operated a farm in the Town of Calumet, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Fisherman's Road Fishing Club, and was a former life-long time member of Holy Trinity Church in Jericho.
Mr. Sabel was a past board member of Agri-Land Co-op and a retired member of the Calumet Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mary Ann Roehrig and her husband, Alan of West Bend, Jean Koenigs, and her husband, Lawrence, "Larry" of Sherwood, Dorothy Meyers and her husband, Marvin of Chilton, Patrica "Pat" Walber, and her husband, James of New Holstein, Cynthia, "Cyndi" Sabel of Antigo, four sons, Paul and his wife, Grace, of Oakfield, Charles, "Chuck", and his wife Jeanette, of Chilton, Gerald "Jerry" and his wife, Cari of Malone, and Randall, "Randy" of Fond du Lac, 23 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Albert Sabel and his wife, Mildred, of Dotyville, and three sisters, Adeline Lefeber and her husband, Leo of Gladwater Beach,Fond du Lac, Caroline Schmitz and her husband, Bob of Dotyville, and Mildred, "Millie" Rose of Fond du Lac.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Agnes Freund.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, with the Rev. Michael Sturm. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery, Town of Taycheedah.
Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home, where a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m.
Memorials to the Hospice of Hope are appreciated.
