OBITUARY.
Mary J. Walworth, who died at her home in this village June 20th, was born in Truro, England, Nov. 20th, 1840. When quite young she came with her parents to Kingston, Ont., where she lived until 1857 when she came to Watertown, N. Y. On March 30, 1864 she was married to Silas C. Conyne of that city. They moved to Canton, N. Y., and later to Edwards, N. Y., where five children were born. Albert H. Conyne, now of Raritan, N. J., Mrs. Irene M. Tillapaugh of Detroit, Mich., George R. Conyne of Plainfield, N. J., DeWitt C. Conyne, who died Sept. 11th, 1881, and Miss Flora Conyne, who has always lived with her mother. In 1885 the family moved to this town. On Jan. 8th, 1888 Silas C. Conyne died in Orwell, N. Y., where he was buried. In Aug., 1893, Mrs. Conyne married Deacon E. Walworth of this town, Mr. Walworth died Jan. 1st, 1896.
At the age of 18 Mrs. Walworth was confirmed by Bishop Brewer in Trinity church, Watertown. Mrs. Walworth attended the Baptist church with Deacon Walworth while he lived but at his death she went again to Grace Episcopal church. Mrs. Walworth suffered a stroke of paralysis Sept, 11,1901, from which she recovered partially. Since that time she has failed slowly until she suffered a second stroke at the time of her death.
Mrs. Walworth made many friends. She was always cheerful and a willing worker. She was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps which attended the funeral in a body.
Services were held at her late home Monday afternoon, June 23d, Rev. H. Sizer of Oswego officiating. Tuesday morning the remains were taken to Orwell, N. Y., and tenderly laid to rest by the side of her first husband. Rev. A. E. Anson of Pulaski officiated at the grave.
Mrs. Walworth is survived by her four children and a brother, William H. Reid of Kingston, Ont., who, with his wife was present at the funeral, and a sister, Mrs. S. M. Lucas, of New Orleans, La.
