Velmer Young, 56, of Marion died Monday night (Nov. 23, 1964) in his home following a long illness.
He was an employee of Clinchfield Manufacturing Co.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ruth Hollifield Young; a daughter, Donna Young of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Ransome C. Thomas and Mrs. Pearl Morgan of Marion, Mrs. B.B. Burleson of Spruce Pine, Mrs. Beauford Reece of Asheville and Mrs. Claude McCall of Old Fort; and five brothers, Jay of St. Petersburg, Fla., Audie, Claude and Robert V., all of Marion, and the Rev. Albert A. Young of Hickory.
Services were held Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1964) at 2:30 p.m. in Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
