"Letha Bell Whiteley Delano of Lometa died April 4, 2004, at the home of her daughter. She was 76.
Funeral services are April 7 at 11 a.m. at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
She was born May 30, 1910, in Bell County, the daughter of John Amos and Letia Elizabeth Cowan Whiteley.
She married William Andrew (Bill) Delano on Sept. 8, 1928, in Coryell County.
Mrs. Delano had lived in Lampasas County since 1932.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Bill Crain, of Lometa; grandchildren, Neal Crain, of McKinney, Lisa VanNatta, of Odessa, and W.D. Crain, of Lometa; great-grandchildren, Glenna Crain, of Rockwall, Sean Crain, of Mesquite, Zachary Crain, of Dallas, Brandy Estes, of Grapevine, and Christopher, Curtis and Courtney Crain, of Lometa; sisters-in-law, Mildred Delano, of Killeen, and Bernice Whiteley, of Burnet; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, W.A. Jr.; three infant brothers; her husband; brothers, Millard and Earl Whiteley; and a grandson, Dale Crain.
Visitation is April 6 from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
