Arthur James Anderson was born in Havana, Florida, August 12. 1947. He was raised in Clewiston, where he attended Harlem Academy School after which he enlisted in the US. Army.

He was nurtured by his beloved mother. Mrs. Cora Anderson. He had three sisters and two brothers, which filled his life with much joy.

He loved to draw and was actually very good at doing artwork and painting. His hobbies was riding motorcycles and playing basketball. He was a member of Greater Friendship Baptist church of Clewiston.

Arthur was an intricate part of the community as he lived in a time when the whole community raised a child.

He began his tour of duty in Vietnam on August 18, 1968 and ended when he gave his life for his Country on February 23, 1969.

Arthur received a Posthumous Promotion, Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal W/V for Valor, Purple Mart Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Vietnam Civic Action Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Infantry Shoulder Cord.
