DEATH OF MRS. ELAM.

Passed Away Last Evening at St. Peter's Hospital.

Mrs. Nancy Rosline Elam died last evening at 6:30 at St. Peter's Hospital, aged 70 years.

Deceased was taken sick in January. As she continued ill, her symptoms getting worse continually, she was taken to the hospital, being admitted a month ago. She was ill unto death, however, and all remedies failed to restore the drooping soul. She passed away peacefully, with her children--five sons: Harper J., Richard B., L. P., D. M. (of the U. S. A.) and C. W. Elam--at her bedside.

Mrs. Elam was a native of Chester county, S. C. She had lived in Charlotte for years, and was known as a good Christian and a woman of most estimable qualities. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. The funeral services will be conducted at the church this afternoon at 5 o'clock, by Rev. C. L. Hoffmann. The pall-bearers will be: Col. H. C. Jones, Messrs. B. S. Davis, J. F. Wilkes, C. L. Hunter and F. Gilreath.
