Farmer Charged
Athens, Tex. - James Wilburn Cook, 18, was shot to death early Saturday and T. W. George, 58, a farmer, was charged with murder.
Bill Cain, who was riding in the front seat of the car Cook was driving, suffered numerous facial wounds from a charge of a 12-gauge shotgun. Four other youths in the car escaped injury.

The boys said they were trying to find a back road to the Travis Ward Airport, where a high school party was being held. Brownlow said George told him the boys had driven across his pasture, and found a fence blocking the road.
George was freed on a $5,000 bond.
