My Grandma gave birth to my Dad Billy Stearns in 1945, he was her oldest son, then Grandma Faye had my Uncle Jimmy, Johnny, and twin boys Rodger and Rodney Stearns.
My Grandma loved Elvis Presley, gardening, and Jesus, she went to Church most Sunday's (my Uncle Jimmy is a Pastor) My Grandma used to baby sit me when I was a baby, I was her first Grandchild and she finally got her Girl! She would always tell me how happy she was when I was born she said "I finally had my Girl!"
My Grandma and I had lost touch for a while. I found
Grandma Faye and we never lost touch again, She wrote me for 19 years. Grandma had been sick the last 18 years, I had visited her in the Hospital, and then my Uncle Rodger and my Aunt Martha looked after Grandma, she still did her gardening until she got too ill, the last time I had seen her was 2005, I moved away and we still kept writing.
Grandma always sent me a birthday card every birthday (never missed one) so that July when I didn't get a card, I called right away to find out if she was ok, but, as I feared my Uncle told me she was very ill in the hospital. I was very upset because I was out of State and couldn't be with her. I recalled her birthday in Dec of 2008 I had sent her the whole golden collection of Elvis Presley's C.D.'s, oh she called me and wrote me about how happy she was with her gift, she was so proud that my son was born on Elvis's Birthday Jan.8th. She was just the sweetest Grandma ever. I think of her often,I miss her cards and letters, the last 2 years before she passed she couldn't hear good enough to speak on the phone anymore I know she is my special Angel who looks over Me and my Children. My Only Son is now a Marine and I know she looks over him always. "I Miss You Dearest Grandmother, I will see you in heaven one special Day"
(I will be adding pictures soon)
