C.W. Royal, 86, died in Collingsworth General Hospital Thursday afternoon, August 25, 1983. He was a retired farmer, having lived on the same farm near Dodson for 38 years. More recently, the family home was in Wellington.

Clarence William Royal was born September 13, 1896 in Montague county, the son of John and Myra Simmons Royal. He lived in Harmon county and was married to Thelma Hunter October 11, 1919 at Hollis. They moved to Dodson in 1922. Many years later they lived at Memphis for a time, returning in 1972. Mrs. Royal died March 31, 1978.

Mr. Royal was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of WW II.

Survivors are two sons, Darrail Royal and Durwood Royal; one daughter, Mrs. Dody (Ferna) Angling; two brothers, Ted Royal of Hereford and Norman Royal of Anadarko, Oklahoma; six sisters, Alma Easter of Portales, New Mexico; Irene Atkinson of Hollis; Maye Easter and Faye Thompson of Elk City, Oklahoma; Marie Gray of Amarillo and Lorene Simmons of Seminole; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
