Ida E. Baker, according to her death certificate (info given by daughter Bea Ainsworth of El Paso, TX), was born November 7, 1865, in West Virginia, to George A. Dewees and his wife, the former Lucinda Ann King. The 1900 Census in Bethany, Harrison, MO, says Ida was born in Ohio in 1864. Since Ida would have given the census taker the info directly, I think it's more reliable than that from her daughter under duress (when she mixed it up with her grandparents' origins). Ida must have gone to her daughter's when she became a widow.
