Daisy was born in 1875 to Joseph and Drucilla Emma McAtee Robertson--Joseph an emigrant from Scotland and Drucilla born in Illinois--near Canyon City, Grant County, Oregon, and lived there until 1889 when the Robertson family moved to Harney County. On May 6, 1894 at her Father's home, she married John D. Daly who had come to Harney County from Canyon City around 1890. John & Daisy Daly made Harney county their home and began their family in 1895 with the birth of their first child, Mary E, born June 18, 1895. Two more children followed: Eunice M., born July 25, 1897 and Abner R., born September 10, 1899.

In a passage from "An Illustrated History of Baker, Grant, Malheur and Harney Counties, OR" , 1902, Page 659, their home was described as follows: the Daly's dwell 'in a fine modern residence of nine rooms, over which his estimable wife presides with a graciousness and dignity that are becoming.'

John Daly co-owned a large general mercantile business in Drewsey and became one of the leading financiers in the area (was the President of the First National Bank of Ontario and First National Bank at Burns by the time the history book was published in 1902).

Daisy's lost her son, Abner, on October 15, 1902 most probably at the family home in Harney County, Oregon. He is buried in the Prairie City Cemetery, Grant County, Oregon where her husband's parents are also buried.

Based on notations in the 'Personal Mention' column from the Idaho Statesman newspaper (Boise, Idaho), John moved his family (wife Daisy and two daughters) from the Drewsey area in Harney County, Oregon to Boise, Ada County, Idaho sometime between 1904 and 1905. Once in Boise, the Daly family was documented in the Idaho Statesman as returning to Boise from St. Louis having visited the World's Fair in 1904; traveling to Portland, Oregon for the Lewis & Clark Centennial Expo in 1905; and to Los Angeles, CA in 1909. The family also was mentioned regularly in the Boise Society page attending functions, entertaining guests, etc. Even after marriage, the Daly daughters were apparently active in Boise society.

After the family's move to Boise, there were many articles in the newspaper involving John both buying and selling land and advertisements for the Idaho Trust & Savings Bank Ltd where John is listed as its Vice President. In the 1927 Boise City Directory, John is shown as the Vice President of the Pacific National Bank living at 1015 W. Hays in Boise, Idaho.

After the death of her Father in 1904, Daisy's mother and niece (Drucilla Emma Robertson and Augusta 'Gussie' Kingsbury) came to Boise and lived with the Daly's until Gussie married Christopher Thomas Coughlin in 1916 and Emma died in 1924.

In 1918 Daisy was the informant (Mrs. John Daly) on the Oregon Death Certificate of James Albert Weatherly, her sister's husband (Lena Robertson Weatherly). Her sister eventually relocated to Boise and remained there until her death in October 1967. Lena was buried next to her husband in Ontario, Malheur County, Oregon.

After Daisy's husband John died in 1935, Daisy remained in Boise. Entries for her were found the Boise City Directories for 1936-37, 1939-1940, 1941, 1945 & 1948 at the same address she and John had occupied for 40-plus years, namely 1015 W. Hays. The 1939-40 Boise City Directory shows evidence that Daisy may have turned her home into a boarding house or apartments as listings begin to show 'apt 1'. Her daughter Eunice Daly Archer and children were listed with her in Apt 1 of 1015 W. Hays through the 1948 Boise City Directory.

Daisy O. Robertson Daly died in 1967 at the age of 92. According to cemetery records, her daughter, Eunice M. Daly Archer who died in 1979, is "buried on the grave of her Mother" (Block SJ8, Lot 26, Space 4).
