Cassius Miles DENNIS was the son of Hiram & Mary Ann McKINLEY DENNIS. He m. 16 Nov. 1886 in Shawnee Co., KS to Letitiea B. STEWART, b. in Scotland, dau of Robert & Agnes STEWART.

Cassius Miles DENNIS was a Sergeant in Co. G, 147th IL Inf. I believe he enlisted in Prophetstown, Whiteside Co., IL on 7 Feb 1865, and was honorably discharged in Savannah, GA on 20 Jan 1866. His brother, Henry Clay DENNIS served in the same unit - this from Henry's pension application.
