Aaron E. Borchers, 81, Moline, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, with military rites conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Aaron was born in Liberty Township, New Liberty, Iowa, to Charles and Carrie Hermann Borchers. He married Mary DeFrieze. She preceded him in death. He later married Jacquelyn M. Dempsey March 1, 1980, in Rock Island.

Mr. Borchers was a truck driver for East Texas Motor Freight for 41 years, retiring in June 1980.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

He was a member of the Croatian Crest Club, Moline, and Teamsters Local 371.

Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn; stepdaughters, Kathy Vermillion, Milan, and Gloria Circo, Carter Lake, Iowa; stepsons, Curtis Flannery, Moline, and John Flannery, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother, Reed Borchers, Wheatland, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Thomas Jones.
