PACE - Beva Pace, 87, pioneer resident of Estancia, passed away Tuesday morning in Ft. Sumner. She was born Sep. 5, 1888, in Hermarage, Mo. She came to Estancia Valley with her husband Walter H. Pace and homesteaded in 1907.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church of Estancia with the Rev. Brian Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Estancia cemetery. She was a member of Estancia United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Bernice Schmitz and Peggy Jo Dorn of Roswell; two sons W. H. Pace of Pawhuska, Okla. and Jimmie Pace of Bluewater Lake, N.M.; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Russel Marsh of Vancouver, Wash; two sisters Bertha Denny of Tulsa, Okla., and Nancy Allen of Grove, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter and three children. Casket bearers will be Jack Dial, Fernando Chavez, Fred Moxley, Gene Kamerchell, Earl Parker, Everett, Ernest, and Pat Gallegos. Arrangements by the Hanlon Mortuary of Estancia.
