Thaddeus Corcoran, 99, of Sun City Center, died Friday, June 11, at Sun Terrace Health Care Center. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he immigrated to the United States as a young man, settling for some time in New York City where he became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States on 18 May 1931. Later career moves took him to Washington, D.C., where he served as the Budget Officer for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, from which position he retired.

In 1941 or 1942 he was among a group of friends of Ruth Blizzard who went to the train station in Washington to greet her older sister Edwina, of New Albany, Mississippi. Over the course of the next 28 years, he and Edwina dated occasionally. At times, when Edwina was dating someone else, she would inevitably introduce them to her friend Terry. His usual advise to her was, "Don't marry that guy, he's not good enough for you." It turns out, of course, that the only guy good enough for her was Terry, and after they both retired, they decided to get married, which they did on 6 December 1969, at Annunciation Church in Washington, D.C.

Terry was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and an avid golfer. He was survived by numerous niece's and nephew's in Ireland.
