He was a retired carpenter, and a Baptist and had resided in Izard County most of his life.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 3, at 2:00 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend, with Bro. Carroll Fowler officiating. Burial was in Violet Hill Cemetery under the directions of Howard's Funeral Home.
