Halstead was a farmer in Versailles, Indiana. He quit school at a young age to take care of siblings. His mother was Mabel Armstrong and father was Clyde Curry. His sisters are Josephine,Clara Belle, Isabelle and Dorthea Curry. He had a brother Robert Curry. He is buried in the Vevay Cemetary on the last road to the right. You go all the way back toward the fence. He has two grave stones. Halstead has his right hand amputated from getting it caught in a corn picker years ago. He loved fishing and hunting. He was a serious, stern and hard core as I knew him as my father. But he taught me right from wrong and stood up for me whenever I needed it. His past is a bit of mystery to me. I know he was a Seargant and was in WWII. He has a son Larry Francis Curry and his wife Nancy who still lives on a section of the home place in Ripley County. He has grandchildren named Stephanie Nicole Morgan Garcia, Steven Leonard Morgan, Curry Andrew Morgan, Larry David Curry and his sister's name is Larissa. They both have children but I do not know that information. Larry Francis Curry and I are step brother and sister. Halstead was Larry's mother Gladys and was married once before that. That information is not known to me. He and my mother Dorothy Louise Lockridge Furnish were never married. I lived with my father from 7th grade till he passed away a year after my graduation in 1986. To me he was everything. I love and miss you dad so very much.
