Morris E. Eakins, 66, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, after a long fight against cancer. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: 4 p.m. Monday in Nevill's Chapel Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Arlington Funeral Home. Morris was born Sept. 3, 1944, in Mount Pleasant to Curtis and Mary Alice Prewitt Eakins. He retired from General Motors after 44 years of service. Morris was an animal lover. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Alice Eakins; brother, Bob Eakins; and sisters, Jerry Jordan and Pat Cameron. Survivors: Wife, Naomi Eakins of Arlington; sister, Joan Bambico of Dallas; sister-in-law, Louise Vasquez of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
