Rex William Hileman, 81 of Emporia died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia.

Rex was born August 3, 1934 in Clay Center, Kansas the son of Howard and Marie Hileman. He had worked as a brick mason, security guard at Modine Manufacturing and a truck driver. Rex was a driver for Dolly Madison Bakery when he retired 20 years ago. He enjoyed woodworking and was a past member of the Ball-McColm Post #5, American Legion, Emporia, Kansas. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union local #955.

Rex married Jacky Lottman on April 20, 1956 in Smith Center, Kansas. She died December 22, 1992 in Emporia. On May 13, 1996 Rex married Sandra Duesler in Emporia. She survives of the home. Other survivors include: son, Mark Steven Hileman and wife Noda of Tonganoxie, Kansas and their children, Kali Hileman and her son Talon, Traci Hoirnek and husband Jeff and Nikki Desmarteau and husband Doug and their kids, Harper, Haiyden and Landon; son, Trade Brian Hileman and wife Sherri of Grandview, Missouri and their children, Hali Hileman and Lexi Hileman; step-son, Michael Dains of Emporia; step-daughters, Paula Davidson and Wanda Siebenaler both of Emporia; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Rex was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; two daughters, Lori Ann Hileman and Rexene Kay Hileman; step-son, JR Dains; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Cremation is planned. Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral in Emporia. Chaplain Ron Carter of the Gentiva Hospice in Topeka, Kansas will be officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyon County Humane Society and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
