Martha was the daughter of Rev War Patriot, Joseph Barker of Lloyd's Neck, Oyster Bay, Long Island NY, and Susannah (Abbott) Barker, the daugher of John and Elizabeth (St. John) Abbott of Norwalk.

"Patty" married "Niram" Dikeman in Danbury on 19 OCT 1805, where they settled and raised their family. They remained on Long Ridge, Danbury their remaining lives.
