Ira F. "Bud" Kirk, 80, of Louisa, KY., passed away Wednesday September 29, 2010, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Bud was born June 29, 1930, in Lawrence County, the son of the late Thomas Benton and Rebecca Jane Wellman Kirk.

He was a farmer and laborer, member of the Oak Grove Church, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Shorten Kirk, who died in 2004.

Survivors include four daughters, Trena Blackburn Green, Lorie Kirk, Mary Jane "Janie" Foster and Nellie Mae Hopson all of Louisa, a son James "Jim Bo" Kirk of Fort Gay, WV., a brother, James "Jim" Kirk of Louisa, six grandchildren Christina Kincaid, Tina Blackburn, Douglas "Little Doug" Foster, Lena Ison, Jimmy Ray Kirk, and Preston Kirk Hopson, four great grandchildren Laylen Bentley, Rylan Kincaid, Kyndul Kincaid, and Baby James.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday October 2, 2010 , at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home by Rev. Mack Ray Cyrus and Rev. Tom Kitts. Burial will follow in the Yatesville Memorial Gardens at Louisa.

In his honor Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
