Mr. Anderson Courtney "Boots" Bailie, 92, husband of the late Laura Evans Bailie, entered into rest on Thursday, October 6, 2005.


Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Peter Letchford officiating.


Survivors include his son, Anderson Courtney Bailie, Jr. of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter, Laure Bailie Whitney of Augusta; three grandchildren, Anderson Courtney Bailie III, of Atlanta, Cynthia Hite Johnston of Terrace Park, Ohio, and Mark Wayne Hite of Augusta; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Elizabeth Bailie Powell of Decatur, and Martha Bailie Mobley of Atlanta.


Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas George and Elizabeth Sibley Bailie, and his two brothers, Thomas George Bailie, Jr., and James Glover Bailie.


Mr. Bailie, a World War II Veteran, was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He was in the automobile service and parking business in downtown Augusta for many years before becoming associated with Sherman and Hemstreet Realtors, where he developed the rental department. Mr. Bailie also enjoyed being a member of the Exchange Club for many years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served on the diaconate.
