George Thomas Davis, went home to be with his Lord, September 29, 2010. He was born September 3, 1920. He was a gospel music song writer, composer, singer; a deacon; retiree of Kellogg's (in 1982) and a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Lucy Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Fay Bickers Davis; daughters, Tommie Cleveland, Barbara Davis, Gail Stout (Tim), Rebecca Clements (Tim), Linda Bickers; sons, William Bickers and Robert Bickers, Jr. (Diane). His grandchildren are Joey Chambers, Kristal Williams, T.J. Stout, Bryan Scott Davis, Jeremy Clements, Christian Clements, Bethany Bickers, Bradley Bickers, Jessica Landis, Alyssa Bickers and great-grandson, Ashton Chambers. He also is survived by his sister, Jane Stowe (Willie), brothers, Bill Davis (Geraldine), Edd Davis (Dora), Jim Davis (Shirley), and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his precious son, Bobby Bryan Davis; parents, Edna and William Brian Davis; brother, Ned Davis, and the mother of his children, Nita Davis. Friends and family will celebrate his home going on Saturday October 2, visitation from 12-2 p.m. and service beginning at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with burial following.
