OBITUARY:
A celebration of life will be held Nov. 20 for Folmer Nielsen Bodtker of Bend and formerly of Junction City, who died Nov. 6 of age-related causes. He was 91.

Bodtker was born May 13, 1914, in Harrisburg to Hans and Susanne Jacobsen Bodtker. He married Bernice Derickson in Tumalo on June 10, 1956.

He was raised in Junction City and was a dairy operator there until 1946. He was a dairyman in Tumalo from 1948 to 1967. He earned a real estate license and bought Russell's Realty, which he operated until 1984. He had lived in the Bend area for many years and spent winters in El Centro, Calif.

Bodtker had served as chairman of the Deschutes County Planning Commission. He enjoyed golf, horses and his dogs. He was a member of the Bend Golf and Country Club, Bend Elks and formerly belonged to the Lane County Mounted Posse.

Survivors include his wife: two daughters, Nancy McCulley of Federal Way, Wash., and Nathele Gitnes of Klamath Falls; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Bodtker's first wife and two sons died previously.

Sunday's service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Bend Golf and Country Club.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home of Bend is in charge of arrangements.
