Linn Jay Tucker, 38, of Pleasant Grove, died March 25, 1993, at his home.


He was born March 20, 1955 in Salt Lake City, to Cleon D. and Betty Jensen Tucker.

He married Kailene Marjorie West, August 8, 1978 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove 19th Ward.

He served a mission to Argentina from 1974 to 1976.

He served in the scouting program as assistant Scout Master.

He graduated with honors from the University of Utah in Metalurgical Engineering.

He later received a Masters degree from BYU.

He was employed at Geneva Steel for the past 15 years as a metalurgical engineer in quality control management.

He was chairman of the association of Iron and Steel Engineers.

He loved outdoor sports and basketball. He also loved camping with his family.

He is survived by his wife, of Pleasant Grove; two sons and a daughter, Jay Dee, Tyler Keith and Abby Lynn, all of Pleasant Grove; his parents, of North Salt Lake; four brothers and two sisters, David D. Tucker, Bountiful; Terry G. Tucker, St. George; Randy W. Tucker, Hurricane; Mark L. Tucker, Logan; Suzanne Griffiths, Kaysville; Bonnie Gaerte, Woods Cross.

Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove 19th Ward, 700 East at 500 North.

Friends may call Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South at 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Monday at the church, one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in the Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful.
