Cawthon, Jasper, born January 15, 1924 in Wills Point, Texas and passed away on July 7, 2000, in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine Eula and William Robert Cawthon; 7 brothers and 1 sister; and his wife of 35 years, Pauline Cawthon. Survived by his daughter, Linda Diane Cawthon; grandchildren, Nathan Jack Cawthon and Claire Elizabeth Cawthon; sister, Eulila Martin; sisters-in-law, Frances Hooper, Ruby Cawthon, and Edith Cawthon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jasper is also survived by his beloved dog, Napoleon. Jasper and his brother Deward "Red" were owners/operators of Cawthon Brothers Service Station in Oak Cliff for 38 years. He was a musician who could play any string instrument and greatly loved playing western swing, country, and gospel music with his family and friends. He played in several bands in the area and loved to play for senior citizen centers. Jasper was loved and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, July 10, 2000, Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Pastor Mary Beth Crouch and Chaplain David Lowe officiating. Interment Laurel Land Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
