Ruth A. Stofle, was born September 1, 1923 in Hollister, California. She passed away Sunday, September 17, 2006 in Merced. She was 83. Ruth was a homemaker and mother. She loved children, and worked as a noon duty supervisor at Charles Wright School for numerous years. Ruth loved gardening and was very proud of her yard. She was once featured in the Merced Sun Star Gardening section.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Stella Adams, her husband, Tom Stofle, son, John Stofle, brothers Martin and Robert Adams, and sister-in-law Marlene Adams. She is survived by her son, James Stofle, CPA of Merced, brothers Michael Adams of Orange, CA and Richard Adams and his wife Teresa of Millcreek, WA., sister-in-law Lorainne Love and her husband Marsh of Lincoln City, OR, daughter-in-law Cecily Stofle of Sacramento, special nieces Carol Love, Louise La Bella, Julie Adams and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 22, 2006 at 2 pm at Plainsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Merced Rescue Mission, 1921 Canal St. Merced, CA 95340 or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitton Family Funeral Service in Merced.
