A. Lee Wimberly (1884-1948), age 64, died Saturday evening at his home at Orange Springs, following a heart attack.
He was a member of one of the pioneer families of the Johnson-Orange Springs area, where he had spent the greater part of his life, though for some years he was in the employ of the Florida Power and Light Company here.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna Wimberly, and daughters, Misses Nancy Joyce and Helen Virginia of Orange Springs; Mrs. Betty Lee Downes of Tampa, and Mrs. Martha Oberman of Columbus, Ga., and two brothers, Gordon Wimberly of Orange Springs, and Fred Wimberly of Jacksonville.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the graveside in the Orange Springs Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Leo. King of Citrus, and with W. Carl Davis and Son in charge. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 8 Oct 1948.)
