Lila Lillian Wiggin, 80, of Muskogee, passed into eternal glory Sunday, August 15, 2004. She was born July 6, 1924 in Keota, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sampson Austin and Louisa Margaret (McClure) Chubbee. She lived in Muskogee for over 20 years. Her mother was a part of a small group that established the First Indian Baptist Mission. Lila was a long time active member of the First Indian Baptist Church. She married Gordon Rodgers Wiggin September 17, 1960. He preceded her in death July 14, 2004. Mrs. Wiggin worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as a supply tech, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed her life and continually thanked God for her many blessings and for many friends. She is survived by her sister, Lucinda Morgan, of Lubbock, Texas; eight nephews; John Morgan, David Joe Clay, Wendall Clay, Keno Clay, Russell Clay, Leslie Clay, Kevin Clay and Darrell Clay; two nieces, Lisa Morgan-Shaffer and Sharon Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her brother David Chubbee; half-brother, Royson Billey and her sister, Mary Clay.
A funeral service for Mrs. Wiggin will be held Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Indian Baptist Church with Reverend John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Russell Clay, David Joe Clay, Kenneth Clay, Leslie Clay and Darron Shaffer serving as pallbearers. The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements.
