MIAMI, Texas - James Elmo "Stack" Gill, 77, died Friday in Pampa.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the First Christian Church in Miami. David Brown, minister of Miami Church of Christ and the Rev. Scott Smith, minister of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Miami Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Gill was a lifelong resident of Miami. He married Maggie Laflin in 1926 in Miami.
He was a farmer and rancher, a member of the Hereford Breeders Association and was associated with the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Roy of Canyon and Terry of Miami; one daughter Mrs. Sharle Black of Borger; three brothers, Bill, Randall and Cecil, all of Miami; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Course of Miami and Mrs. Goldie Roberts of Woodward; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the Roberts County Museum or to a favorite charity.
