Hazel was a terrific feisty woman and at times some what intimidating she was also a person of iron will and unconditional everlasting perseverance.
She was married to George Hardman then George Howington.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother including to her sons Neil, Harry, Hue, Bert and her other children, her grandchildren Michelle Hardman Rhea (my Mom David Rhea) and Greg Hardman among many others.
She was a very successful entrepreneur and landowner, traits which she instilled into her children helping them start their own businesses Neil was in the process of starting the Lincoln Beach Boat Club on the Utah lake in Utah County Utah prior to his death in a boating accident at dead horse point while trying to save his friend that got thrown off overboard., Her other son Harry is the founder and owner of Shoreline bus in Payson Utah, and Hue from Kamas Utah and Bert from Heber Utah .
Hazel herself owned the whole land lot in Millcreek in Salt Lake County Utah where the St Marks Hospital is now.
She was known for her prize winning flowers and roses to which she attended to daily even right up to just one month before her death.
She also loved to raise chickens and sell their eggs to local grocers.
She survived several heart surgeries including several pacemaker replacements.
She was a devout LDS never took off her temple garments, never drank, never smoke, never drank coffee although she loved her tea.
Though later in life she didn't attend Church she always payed her tithings and helped spread the Word of God & Jesus Christ and help people to have faith.
She was well known for helping her family when she could.
She had a morbid fear of automobiles due to a incident in her youth which she never disclosed to anyone and as such she didn't drive she'd walk miles to family, friends, do her shopping, the only time she'd get in a car was to visit her children that lived out of town.
She also didn't like to have her picture taken though the rest of her family liked to have theirs taken.
She is missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
