Roger Lloyd Tam, 85, of Warren, IN, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
Mr. Tam was a veteran of the United States Marines and served in the battles of Guam and Iwo Jima during World War II. He earned a degree in pharmacy from Purdue University in 1949 and joined his family's business, Tams' Rexall Drugs, as a registered pharmacist. He owned and managed several stores throughout central Indiana. He lived in Elwood for most of his life.
He was born Jan. 5, 1925, to Merritt and Helen Tam. He married Mary Louise Eckman in 1949. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Day; four sons, Steven Tam, Michael (Rita) Tam, Gregory (Teresa) Tam and Douglas Tam; a sister, Mary Emma Huffman; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Heritage Pointe, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren.
