Alice V. Welch, 83, of Heritage Manor died there Sunday, March 12, 2000.

Born July 10, 1916, in La Prairie Township to Robert II and Mable Van Patten Doran, she married Charles F. Welch on Jan. 18, 1935, in Peoria. He died Jan. 2, 1983, in Chillicothe.

Three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, David (and Deborah) of Chillicothe; two daughters, Sandra (and Gary) Warner of Normal and Martha (and Doug) Peacock of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She had been a waitress at the Hotel Pere Marquette for many years. She also was a bus driver for Welch Bus Lines in Mossville and Chillicothe, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of Mossville United Methodist Church.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. David Allin will officiate. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
