Minnie Clara Ehlers was born January 18, 1904 on a farm 5 miles west of Papillion, the middle child of 9. She attended school at Stender School which was at the south east corner of their farm. Later she attended High School in Gretna, Nebraska and stayed with her Aunt Doris. At the start of her 3rd year, her mother became quite ill, and she being the oldest girl at home had to quit school to help care for the family.

In 1923 she married Lester Lutz, who she had been confirmed with at the Friedens Lutheran Church in Papillion. She and Lester farmed in Sarpy County for many years. She was a great help mate on the farm. She would buy 1000 baby chicks, at the time when they would be ready to "dress" by the 4th of July, and she would sell fryers to the people in Papillion. She was a fantastic gardener, cook, baker, and could sew anything. You could draw a pic of a dress, and she could make the pattern, and sew it. In the early 50's she decided to go back to school. Got her GED and went on to nursing school. Got her Practical Nursing degree and worked at Veteran's Hospital in Omaha for many years. After she retired, she volunteered at the Midlands Hospital in Papillion.

In later years Minnie suffered from the dreaded Alzheimers, from which she later died on September 14, 1993, at Papillion Manor in Papillion.
